What model is my Dean deep fryer?
I have a Dean deep fryer with no model numbers. The fryer was power washed and unfortunately so were the numbers. I need to buy a propane conversion kit and I do not know the model number. It is a double basket, 90,000 btu's, 3 burners, and has a red oval emblem on the front top door that reads Dean. The orifice is #35, not sure if this helps much. Any help would be greatly appreciated. They look like newer fryers.

The first picture of the fryer is like mine except that it does not have spacers separating the baskets.
The second fryer looks almost identical to mine, except that it is NOT that disgusting. Mine looks newer like the first one, but I am not sure of the age. I hope some one can help me.
The main problem you have here is that the rating plate is destroyed. I would send images of your exact appliance to the manufacturer for identification. Not samples of similar ones. If they can identify it, they should be able to provide you with a conversion kit (if one is available) and a replacement rating plate. It is illegal to supply fuel to an unapproved appliance. This one was approved at one time, but with no legible rating plate it has lost it's compliance.
The other option you have is to get it "field approved". Basically this means you have someone convert the appliance and then have it inspected by the "Authority having Jurisdiction" and they may grant it approval. This can be a very expensive and time consuming route though...
You shouldn't operate that appliance without a proper rating plate because if you were to have a fire or anyone were injured by it, insurance would deny any claims and the manufacturer will take no responsibiity either.
