Im creating a gift basket of baby goods for my pregnant friend, can anyone think of some unusual things?
im a student so on a bit of a budget....
These aren't unusual, but if your friend is having her first baby, she might not think of these things - and I found them to be really, really handy (and inexpensive!!)...
First, Huggies makes some disposable washclothes that are pre-soaped. In the first couple weeks after the baby is born, your friend will have to give the baby sponge baths (until the umbilical cord falls off) and these are really handy. They come in boxes of 20 and are about $2.50 (at least in my area). I recommend the Calming Touch scent.
Second, emery boards for babies. I don't know about your friend, but I was afraid of cutting my baby's nails when he was first born (and he really needed it!!) - and I heard that some hospitals will not cut them for liability reasons - but the emery boards work great! Added bonus, they work well for mom when needed! They are only about $1.50.
I am sure you will want to get your friend a little more than this, but these are the couple of things that I got that I would have never thought of.
